Here’s WHAT MIGHT HAVE REALLY HAPPENED TO FARRAH FRANKLIN, FORMER DESTINY’S CHILD MEMBER. “I have no place to go” means just that and resonates with anyone who has ever experienced homelessness.
Imagine her thinking that a beer or a drink at a party would help her forget her problems of losing her place of abode. And another and another until finally she can no longer coordinate even the simplest things, let alone something as complicated as suddenly becoming homeless. Of being alone and having no place to go.
Even though we live in the richest country in the world, her
comment when they found her on a strange person’s porch was that she was trying to get to the woods. That was her first thought because there is no bill of rights in any state in our great country which would ensure her safety and shelter after losing her home.
What’s worse, like so many other people around the world who lose their homes there are no friends or family that she could call on. (I doubt if Beyonce came to mind!)
In her state of hysteria she is viewed as a threat by the young socially illiterate party hosts. Instead of seeing her as someone who needs help, the men at the party view her as a threat and call the police, who happen to be one of the most ill-trained and incompetent entities in America when it comes to dealing with the growing homeless population.
She cries in disbelief when she tells the police that she has no place to go after being booked and released for drunk and disorderly conduct. Depending on the precinct they may or may not have contact with the local shelter. If she's lucky they might print out a list of shelters to hand to her upon being released.
Because of a hangover and shock of her situation, she'll be unable to focus on any of them and like so many Americans she will be searching for that place in the woods to spend the night.
