I was christened Elizabeth Sharon Kurtz at Bethel Baptist Church in Albion, Michigan. I spent most of my adult
life working as an English teacher. When Detroit decided to lay off 500 teachers in 2012, despite years of savings and preparation,
I lost my apartment. By 2013, I ended up living "on the streets." I shortened my name to "Lit" because one
has to economize when living on the streets.
Since being out here, I've seen another side of life in America. Now, I write blogs about homelessness and poverty.
The solutions to ending homelessness are simple, but it can't happen without constant discussion on the topic--- I try to facilitate that here.
I hope you will be open-minded when you read my blogs and that you will comment or ask questions.
I try to add a blog once or twice a week, more if something gets me going.
If you want to purchase a blog it's only a dollar per month. I do this part time and try to bring relevant information to you that needs to
discussed.
With love from the streets,
